Authors & Illustrators Night is a marquee event at Lowell Elementary School, funded by PTA donations and facilitated by the hard work of PTA volunteers. This year's event is a product of the hard work of Lowell Parent and Event Chair Lisa Johnston Hancock. 

Jon and Desi St. Amant are a husband-wife team of creators from Southern California. They love world-building and telling stories through relatable and unique characters. When not storytelling, they enjoy spending quality time with their two sons and pets. 

Learn how to create your own unique character! After a short talk about Three Bee Honey and the process of creating the book, Jon and Desi will help students illustrate a bug-style self-portrait and learn the elements of character design.
