About the Event

Authors & Illustrators Night is a marquee event at Lowell Elementary School, funded by PTA donations and facilitated by the hard work of PTA volunteers. This year's event is a product of the hard work of Lowell Parent and Event Chair Lisa Johnston Hancock.

Fold, crease, open, repeat! After a reading of Anzu and the Art of Friendship, students will create mountain and valley folds, participating in the age-old Japanese art form, transforming paper into origami cows with personality. Moooo!

Moni Ritchie Hadley is the author of The Star Festival, Anzu and the Art of Friendship, and the founder of the Write Kidlit Now! Scholarship. After attending UCLA and enjoying a career as a home/hospital teacher, Moni pursued her dream of becoming a writer. She lives in Los Angeles with her family and four furry writing buddies. Visit her at moniritchie.com and @bookthreader.
